Thread: Article: The Cephalosporins

    Jack,

Convenia (Cefovecin Sodium) is mentioned in the 3rd generation Cephalosporins. A friend recently had a yard accident where his bitch suffered a broken leg and jaw. His vet administered this drug.

From the little research I've done on Convenia, it's an injectable that is given once and replaces 28 pills (or 14 days of dosing) as its efficacy is 14 days.

It is cost prohibitive though, as I've found it is $265 for 10ml, but as the name states a major convenience.

I'd be interested in any more info others or yourself may have to share about this drug.

Thank you, S_B, this is great information.

I do not have a source for Cefovecin sodium.

If I find one (or if you find one), please post it here.

    Cheers.
