but if it wernt for a good friend losing his best dog and best buddy yesterday making an insane scratch and me not drinking way to much alcohol, i wouldnt have said it (that way)

It's all good R2L. If you said those things about your dogs or pups I would've believed you. Who am I to tell you your dogs aren't DG? More power to you if that's what you think about them. I've bred, raised and showed plenty of dogs to know what I'm talking about. I don't let my dogs sit on the chain until maturity and finally see what they have in them. I like to spend time with them everyday as much time as I could and when I do that, man you be surprise how much you missed out if you hadn't spend those times with them.
I was comparing that white pup to My Ch Buddy dog. There's a good reason why I made that statement. I know a lot about my own dogs that's why.

I totally understand the need to respect the whole concept of a truly dead game dog my friend.

But I think we all have seen certain dogs who, though the may not have proven to be dead game, nonetheless are so far beyond the ordinary dog in their intensity that we feel something about them, that they really would be that game, if we took them that far.

I know I have felt that about certain dogs, that they were just way beyond the ordinary dog in their intense love of combat. So, though I never made the dog "prove" it was dead game, I just felt that they would be that game if I did so.

Okay so I start the weaning process at 3 weeks and got them off by 4 weeks. (On raw) They got their shots and dewormer as scheduled. By 8 weeks, I gave them knuckle bones to chew on. The reason for this is hopefully itll strengthen their mouth. Each pup have their own knuckle bone up until 4 months old(when their baby teeth falls off then I'll take it away and they'll never see it again.) The reason why I do this is because they could crack their teeth from chewing on them. All the pups are separated and are on their own. I would work the older dogs on the hide and slat or flirt pole and let the pups see what's going on. I start them off with Kong balls instead of hides.(for health issues) I let them get used to the slat by putting them on it everyday even though they're not doing anything. Usually by 12 weeks, they know how to flirt with a small kong ball on it and run the slat by this age. One trick I use on distracted pups that don't focus very well is chain them to a spot and tease them with a kong ball. It usually don't take long for them to stay focus. Do this as often as possible and they will be hot! When they go nuts cause they want to work, that's when I let them work on the spring pole in twos. They'll start showing their dominance when they bump each other. By 6 months, they're turned on and there's no going back to being pups. Now they're young prospects.
That's how I raise these pups. I know the majority don't do it the way I do but maybe it'll give someone else a better idea of raising their pups.

Jack, i think there is a difference between pups and adult dogs who've had some real resistance. I actually think its better to think a dog would be dead game and pick it up on time then to make him prove it.

That is a very nice looking dog R2L. Does he weigh about 40 lb?
The litter Baby Blonka and The Terminator has a variety of weights. Baby Blonka is about 27 lb, Terminator is 33, the only female weighs 35, Manny 40 lb and white Fang 45 lb.
As for the lil female litter, they're all under 30.

this fella weighs 19 kilo, which i think will also be around his final weight, still got some puppy fatt.

19kg is about 41lbs. I've won many bets with people just looking at dogs and guessing their weights but of course not for money or beer just a friendly bet. The black dog on top is Manny. He was 40 lbs at 8 months. Not sure how much more he grew. And the red/white head female is a sister to Head strong. You could see the difference in size between the two litter. I also like mine to be 30-40 lbs also. Anything bigger than that then they gotta go. Smaller dogs=less food to feed and easier to handle.

Lil gyp has tough skin. So far she hasn't been punctured. ACE??
