He is a great dog. More than pleased with what we have off him.

Jack I'll have to disagree with what you said about Titere. Though that last showing went over 2 hrs, Titere had no real struggle with Smokey. It was over long before the final bell rang. The opposition just refused to admit defeat and allowed their entry to be completely decimated.

Russian Bobby won over a talented 1x in his second showing well under the hour mark.

Puma is a good 2x that is on the search for a third. In the first once he got his feet wet, there was no turning back, and the second was no contest from start to Quick finish. For number 2 there was controversy as he was supposed to be going into Ch Smoking Joe, but after everything was all said and done the guys said it was not Joe, but a look a like with the EXACT same markings.....

That is what I thought the first time I heard about the match: Titere didn't struggle, it just went so long because the other side refused to pick up.

Regardless, Titere is Titere, and becoming an 8xW, which is something less than .0001% of any dog has ever done, is a qualifying accomplishment for being "the finest dog of the year."

    Thank you for the information.

But, to the person who mentioned him, sorry, that is not even close to qualifying for a DOY title.

    A nice win, yes.

DOY Candidacy though? Not by a country mile.

Sounds like a really good prospect, but again DOY? Not hardly.

It would be nice if you could take the time to enter the ped here, rather than post a link to that other site.

Don't worry, most people are too lazy to contribute, so you're in common company

Anyway, it's hard to say if the dog "really was" Ch Smokin' Joe.
A 1xW beating a Champion, to become a 2xW, is a helluva win, but again it is not really DOY Candidacy.
Now, if he beat a second Champion this year, to become a Champion, then that would truly be DOY Candidacy.

For example, last year Ch April II (3xW) would have won DOY here, were it not for the fact Gr Ch Titere beat a fellow 6xW and DOY to earn his 7th win.

In fact, I still feel guilty for not giving the DOY title to April ... because beating 2 Champions in 1 year ... one a 4xW in over an hour, the second Champion being an all-out-war in which April prevailed in over 3 hours ... is something so great and so special that it deserves DOY Candidacy and selection.

But a 1xW beating a Champion? I just can't get to DOY with that.
    Especially a "gosh-it-was-supposed-to-be-a-Champion" ...

I agree with all of that. Just adding a little to the conversation.

Hey on any pedigree I personally place here of my dogs I'll do my best and make sure its correct. For the others just as a conversation piece please forgive me but I'm not so inclined to do so at this moment.

Indeed April was a really good bitch and had every right to be in the top rankings. What she did in a year was quite impressive. DOA, 4xw, and 3 plus hours. She covered all bases.

And it's much appreciated, thank you.

Even if the dogs' candidacy is ultimately rejected, it is still valuable information which you added, which helps me make up my mind, so again it is very much appreciated

    Understood, and thanks again.

    Agreed.

Except I would raise that appraisal up a bit and call her a truly great bitch

Also, my placing my opinions here at least gives everyone a chance to provide feeback ... correct me ... add additional info, etc.

So it really is a global decision-making effort ... rather than some magazine editor "deciding" what dog is what, with virtually no feedback (and no transparency).

Like I said, there were a lot of past DOYs that I would not have chosen myself.

    Fine dogs, yes.
    DOY material? No.

The selected Pit Bull Bible DOY winner is going to have to be truly special ... and the process to make that decision is going to be a completely transparent process ... so there is no BS (and no "politics") involved.

I will never accept, or reject, ANY dog based on blood/personality/friendship/ etc.

Our decision will always be based on DOG MERIT WITHIN THE PRESCRIBED YEAR

    What is Puma's show weight?

I believe that http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum...p?dog_id=31593 should be at least considered for d.o.y. She has beat all 2xwers in 3 different places, in just over a year and awaiting a vet opinion on calcium deposits and another 4xw.

    Any new considerations?

Heard a few rumblings about Ch. Chocolatebuck. Planning to close out his year strong.

How is this Gizzy dog bred? Here recently i've heard mention of him, but they don't actually know much about him except he is a Gr.Ch.
