Absolutely. Unless you already had the virus on your yard somewhere, a person can bring it in on their shoes. It's never a good idea to have strangers around young pups that haven't built up immunity yet. Always have people (yourself included) take off their shoes outside the door and change into slippers to wear around the house. Wash your hands before handling the pups as well. This will help cut down on the possibility of infecting them.
