Actually, I have always felt that was a load of crap, that a dog should "lose" his Grand Champion title if he loses a match. This idea was invented by Jack Kelly, and to this day people follow it like lemmings.

If we compare this stupid notion to boxing, then Sugar Ray Robinson, Mohammad Ali, Roberto Duran, Joe Louis, etc. could never be "Grand Champions" or HOF Champions, which of course is ludicrous.

To say a 6xW like Yellow is a "real" Grand Champion (even though he never faced a great dog), but to say a dog like Robert T is "not" a Grand Champion (when he beat two 4xWs and two Grand Champions, among many other winners) is simply preposterous IMO.

I know this is a whole other subject than this thread, but to snicker at a dog who won 5x, just because he happened to lose once, is pretty lame IMO.
