The main difference between line breeding and inbreeding is that inbreeding has the exact same. Line breeding has something different.

Even though the all have the same at some point when you have so many generations ,it's the % amount within the 1st 4 generations that still separate's inbreeding from line breeding.

All you need is 3 to start a family and then you can add on in time. You can take 2 males to a single female ,2 females - a single male or both.

You can breed a male -2 females ,1/2 bro/sis and then take a female out of that too the other male.
By changing the male on the top every 2-3 generations and the same changing the female you keep hybred vigor.

The initial crosses creates new dogs and you can line breed using the cross to create new strains.]

Research "Punnett Squares" .
It will explain how starting a family with 2 dogs works within 4 or more generations without outcrossing.

The minute you outcross to a completely new family you then create a new Punnett Square and new process.

Another thing to research would be the monk Gregor Mendal .

Not one who started Punnet square but is most know for Punnett Squares.

Thanks.
