Jack...your blood, how would u suggest breeding this gyp?
I recently aquired a great gyp off Silverback bred to his daughter Dirty Hammer. She's small, has great style, ability, and heart. I'd like to have great specimens off of her. What route would u suggest I go? Thanks for your time.

It's a few Poncho dogs around a few Hollingsworth dogs around I would go in that direction. I believe IceStorm still alive so I would look into him

Hello 4life. I would also p.m. member B.L.K. on this site. He has some of the last Patrick dogs with no out cross in them that I saw at a quick look at that pedigree. B.L.K. has this dog up for stud. Dog Id=51341. His dogs appear to be predominately black which is interesting and I prefer. A cross to this buckskin bitch of yours might throw some of those old colors that popped up time to time on those Carver dogs.
You and him could preserve some of these Patrick and Vise Grip line of dogs. You can do a test breeding and look at the breeding at fourteen generations. IMHO I feel this line of dogs carries some of the last Lightener influence. This is probably the last family bred dogs that could revive what is left of any of the straight Carver bloodlines.
IMHO trying to preserve some of these older bloodlines is very important. Just like some Game Cock persons hang onto any of the proven Hatch Cock bloodlines and the old proven Clarett bloodlines.
Cross out for hybrid vigor if needed, is fine. Never lose your old family base stock of dogs. When they are out crossed out or bred down to just pretty pets with pretty papers. They are lost forever IMHO. Cheers

The idea that stuck in my head, was crossing to Eli dogs. I think the Indian Sonny thread on here has some info from Jack about this.

I have a line bred poncho x kitana dog. Really nice dog in his prime and he's thrown some sturdy athletes. Well tempered working dogs...
