That outburst of rhetoric was a waste of typing.
No one ever accused Grip of being a hyped bum, but the fact is the SDJ got lambasted (again) for selecting Grip over Titere. "The other mags" don't mean anything to me, but he earned a similar status (and was 2nd Runner-Up) here also, being 1 of 2 dogs to get a whopping 3 votes, while Titere got 47 votes. I realize it's all opinion, and I think that pretty much clears the air as to the nearly-universal opinion of the fraternity, and how far out in left field the SDJ was, again. It wasn't even a contest in my mind, and in the minds of most others.
Jack Kelly's "system" is as antiquated, and lacking in depth, as the ROM is compared to the numbers-crunching that can be done here also.
Again, Grip beat an 8 year old dog, while Titere beat a peer. If the situations were reversed, and Titere beat an elderly dog, he wouldn't have got the nod here either.
Gr Ch Capoeira won earned the same 3 votes here as Grip did. I made her 3rd Runner-Up, under Grip, and made Ch April the 1st Runner-up. The truth is, Capoeira may be a badass bitch, but she didn't do anything "historically-significant" last year, compared to either Grip or Titere. True, she made Gr Ch, but I think beating 2 Champions in 1 year, which is what April did, is arguably the best year of any of them, including Titere; however, neither Champion April beat was as historically-significant a win as beating a fellow Gr Ch/DOY was. If Titere didn't exist, Ch April would have won IMO.
True.
