No he didn't get the nod here but he got it with SDJ and finished top 5 in other Mags, wasn't like he was a hyped bum, he did beat several really good dogs along the way and a GrCh also it just wasn't another GrCh DOY as Homer was. I can't sure which one he beat because the guys I know that were in talks with one of their Chs, kindly bowed out. I don't have all the details of exactly who just the time and that he won in really good fashion again, if it was the folks i believe it was, he beat a really good team.. It wasn't a backyard alley spring pole contest.
I wasn't debating about him not winning last year, Titere won it here and Grip won with SDJ last year. It's all human opinion no matter which way we slice it. According to the system that JK had created to tally points, Grip had edged it out that's the only reason SDJ even appointed him the winner. The system does not take into the account of the hype of a show. I've always said congrats to Titere and what he accomplished was great and if they go for what many believe they will I truly do hope he gets it. It's time we add a legend to that status. The Bulldog community knew of Titere & Balboa, while many didn't know of Grip. Titere n Balboa talks have ran the Coast for quite some years especially after the prior North v South contest. I personally picked Capoeira for the DOY, she won all of hers on the open circuit into whoever would put their weight out and she whipped everybody easily and if able to get handles her times would be even shorter, and 2 Chs ducked the hell out of her but I'm glad Titere won it because he also earned it. Grip is only out to prove he belongs among the elite names..
Far as this year, I think we all know the next Battle of Ch's which is slated will probably be the front runner of DOY until somebody reels off a few wins but with the hype of this one, Surely starting their year off with this will get them out in front.
