TRIVIA/HUMOR: People use to think AB wasn't too smart (reading). Cox was at AB's place talking how AB beat me and TM back to Wilson from the GR CH Snake thing. That he would read the signs and AB had that Pickup on 120. I asked if AB ever got confused with his left and right. He said hell yeah. He would get excited in the outfield and catch with his left hand and throw with his gloved hand. The same with boxing and he would go ballistic and pummel the hell out of someone. I turned to AB and said your just Dyslexic. Some of the smartest people I know have been. Nobody said anything. AB was very cordial.
In 1973 I was headed to Mexico and stopped at a rest stop after entering Texas. I spent a long time looking at the map board with city lights on it. Punch a city and your route would light. A Park Ranger came over and asked me what was my problem. I said, " I can't find WAR REZ. I see JAR REZ (JUAREZ). But, no WAR REZ. He looked at me a few seconds and pushed the button and said, that is the same city. I guess he thought my problem was obvious. Imagine this little ditty if I wasn't on spellcheck.
