    I guess I should update this thread…

The old dog got worse and all of her lymph nodes and glands were very swollen. I put her on the doxycycline and it did not touch it.

She had lymphoma cancer all thru her body. She was not in great pain but the swellings were making it hard for her to breathe so I had her put to sleep since she could not recover. She had some good last days and I did not want her to suffer.

That old dog was with me for many long miles and showed many people that pit bulls are not what the news media says they are…
Rest in peace baby, I miss you.

Fuck cancer. If your dogs get swollen glands that do not respond to antibiotics, it is probably cancer.
Common sense isn't so common these days.

I lost two of my favorite house dogs to this as well one was almost 16 the other 13, I lost them 5 months apart. You are correct it sucks to see them go down this way. The vet told me lymphoma as well but honestly I wasn't really convinced that was the case.

The common denominator is the tick, we had just moved to a new property which was wooded and near a heavily wooded area. We sprayed and spread granules before moving the dogs onto the property which protected them from the ticks but not the roaming house dogs.

I can't imagine a tick can cause lymphoma? The first dog we treated with Imizol, doxy and pred. The pred was a bad idea but that's what vets typically prescribe.

Sorry you lost your old dog, sounds like she had some good days with her best friend before you set her free.
