Have to admit, I got a lump in my throat when I came across this photo ... taken almost 3 years ago by Tina after we all had a wonderful hike in the woods.
I have never been closer to any dog than Silverback (and his mama Missy). Poncho was great, but was an asshole to keep. Stormbringer was great, but dangerous and couldn't be a house dog.
Silverback was great ... but was
also a perfect companion and house dog. Never ate trash or ruined anything. Never pissed in the house. Always happy, always obedient, never caused me any trouble ... AND was a world class athlete to boot.
Of all the dogs I have bred over the years, if I could get "one" dog back it would be Silverback. (Missy, Jezebel, and Screamer would be honorable mentions ...)
