No, we did an AI with Screamer because Big John wouldn't breed naturally, and she had her pups just fine. It was a fresh semen breeding done right there on the spot when I brought Screamer over there.
As far as freezing semen goes, you have to get a DNA profile on a stud nowadays, just to freeze his semen at all, if you want the pups to get registered. There is no registration body I know of that will accept a frozen semen breeding without one, unless maybe it's very old.
