Yes, that has been my feeling for some time, that many of the grocery store meats are from animals and fowl that are not correctly fed and are pumped full of antibiotics and hormones, etc., thus affecting disease resistance in whatever eats this meat, whether it is people or dogs.

When things settle down a bit, I plan to change over to eating the free range hormone free chicken and will look for a source for local beef and lamb. I have thought about keeping chickens too, and where I live it is legal for me to have goats too. Both can be excellent sources of food for both dogs and people.

Most meats and poultry in the US are not raised and fed the same way as the old "family farm" of 50-60 years ago.

One can find healthier meats but it takes some work and costs more. Still, I think it is worth doing.
