Masculine females?
Has anyone else ever had a female that thinks she's a male? Lifts her leg to piss? Scratches like a male after taking a dump? Built like a male, acts like a male. Been in heat twice, so she's really a female. Just looking for insight. So far looks good. Great athelete, great wind. Just astonished by the male traits.

Yeah, I have had a few like that. Missy was like that, in fact; she used to hike her leg and put her cooter up against a tree when I walked her
I've had lots of bitches who would "scratch" ...

Re: Masculine females?
What's the deal with females lifting their legs to piss? I've heard someone claim they're bulldog doing that and I thought they were joking since I've never seen it done with my own eyes. Is it becuase she is dominant and marking territory? Will other males pick up on her scent of dominance? Lol.

Yes, mine will hump everyone the first time she meets them. It is the funniest thing to watch people ask if she knows she's a female. She is the most dominate female that I've ever seen.

my Sharapova marks every tree and poll. She kicks her feet up after she deficates. As a puppy, she would hump everything, and gentleman...She is ONE HELL OF A BULLDOG. Everything a dogman could ask for.

Our Roto bitch was like that, and also a semi-sketchy mother with her pups. I used to have to give her little pieces of Valium daily until I could get the pups weaned. Fortunately, her daughters did not take after her in that manner. Just like any good cowman, the bulldog man should be looking for females with not only good performance traits, but also excellent maternal traits. What good is the CH female who kills her own get? If they are not good mothers, as so many of the bulldoggy dyke type of females are, then you need to bred into them good maternal instincts. Bitches who won't whelp pups and raise them to the weaning stage are pretty darned worthless to the breeder. I have a friend whose yard I visited over the Christmas holiday season. He has had trouble with about 75% of the bitches on his yard raising pups, which severely limits his breeding choices and options. You simply cannot fix this trait into a family of dogs, or even a small yard of dogs and be very successful. Some of these dyke type females may be good mothers, but all of the ones I have seen over the years tend not to be.
