Can someone please refresh my knowledge on proper dosage of Panacur please.
Panacur is dosed 1 ml per 4 lb, twice daily, for 3 days in a row ...
CA Jack, I have a 40lbs gyp and I use the Panacur 10% (equine paste). Would it be correct to give her 10 ml twice daily for 3 days in a row? I just gave her a finger tips worth one time. Just trying to save money and do it right at the same time.Quote:

All you're doing when you engage in half-ass, sloppy practice like that is 1) you're not accomplishing your purpose, which therefore means 2) you're wasting your time/money, and worse 3) you're also running the risk that the parasite will build resistance to the drug you're using, so that even if you use the right dose the next time that drug will no longer work.
So never do something like this.
When you buy drugs, understand what the dosage is, use the right dose, for the right frequency per day, and carry all dosings out for the proper duration of days.

Yup got the book DVD but right in the middle of a big move its all in a storage unit so thx guys.
I have one more question. Is it best to worm on an empty stomach or with some feed? Does it matter or not?
