Babesia is a game changer in a negative way if you don't know exactly how to deal with it. Some things have evolved and some stay the same. There are more strains than simply Gibsoni and Canis.

While berenil is still something good to have on hand, it's not as effective as Imizol and is really only specific to one strain of Babesia Canis Rossi and Imizol is effective to this strain as well.

How to prevent:

Berenil IM at 2.3mg/lb
24 hours later Imizol SC 3.0mg/lb

Repeat in 2 weeks.

Clindamycin
Metronidazole
