View Full Version : Mail Order Fish Antibiotics still Available?
I've used and kept a stock of the Fish Antibiotics for years. In the last month I've been getting emails from the various online sellers saying "Order now, laws are changing!"
Are they just drumming up business or are there future laws coming that will make it illegal to buy fish antibiotics thru the mail in the US?
Thought I'd post here and ask and see if anyone had heard anything about this.
Thanks
I have not found any for more than a year now.
I have read where wormers are next.

I bought some fish antibiotics online about 6 months ago with no problem though I noticed the price had gone up quite a bit. I like to have some on hand but don't want/need too many, plus the expiry date, well they keep longer than the date but can lose potency over time.
Seems we lose more and more freedoms each year. Never thought fish antibiotics would disappear like this. And wormers too? Geez... Not everyone wants to go to the vet for such simple things. Plus vets, prices have gone way up too.
Where online did you order those?
I would like to give it a try.
Seldom will they lose potency. We retest ours at the plant after five years. Always spot on.

I just recently ordered antibiotics. They are still selling without prescription for now, but are monitoring regulatory updates.

I'm pretty sure that's the site I ordered from. My old female had 2 deer ticks on her way back in Dec, those are hard to see and where I was about 93% of the ticks have Lyme so rather than go to the vet and get her tested I figured it could not hurt to put her on antibiotics for 30 days since that's the treatment. I only had a 2 week supply hence I went looking for more.
Good to know they keep a long time. I also used Google when I was looking and found many sites were out of stock on the common antibiotics. Guess I better stock up again if they are going to be regulated out of reach...
I went ahead and ordered Amoxicillin from that fish antibiotic site. 250mg Amox 100 capsules for $39.95. With the Lyme being such a threat I did not want to risk not having it. From what I've read, the vet tests for Lyme are not that accurate, so it makes better sense to me to use the antibiotics. Lyme is a bad one and best treated early..
What other antibiotics do you all keep on hand...?
